Mizz Dee's Photography!

I simply had to share these beautiful shots taken by Dee Fashola, aka Mizz Dee's Photography. (Please add her page!)

Dee first contacted me last week about doing some pictures with a couple of my shirts, and before a week had passed, there was a selection of some really great looking pictures. Very professional in manner, in work, and in timing! She supplied the models, location, and editing, and all I did was send the clothing. The first shots appeared in under 48 hours and really were great!

I'd highly recommend Dee to my fellow independent designers, so don't hesitate to talk business with her via her page if you're at all tempted by these shots. Contact: deefashola @ hotmail. co. uk

Here are the pictures! Enjoy.. ^_^

Celebrating my new iPhone!

I'm posting this for no other reason than to see if I can!

I recently stepped in to the 21st century and got a proper smartphone... The fact it carries my music and audio books too is just a bonus. I loved my blackberry, and would defend it to the ends if the earth, but since having this phone I'm realising how limiting it really was.

I can catch up on reading everyone's blogs now without squinting and waiting 3 hours for paged to load :p

Doesn't seem to be a way to upload pics... Please tell me if you know a way!

My Ooberla Monster arrived!

I ordered an Ooberla! Monster from... Ooberla!

She arrived in her lovely little box, inside a bigger box, with the most adorable business cards EVER! (I was going to take a picture of those too, but I've put them somewhere safe... erm... if anyone sees them, please let me know!)

There are a lot more monsters in need of homes, like Isobel and Hector!

I know it's only October...

I'm already looking forward to the festive season!

Cold nights, so you can wrap up with blankets and hot water bottles, and sit by the fire if you're lucky enough to have a fireplace.

Twinkly lights, everywhere!

And the starbucks festive menu ^_^

Now if only they would harness the power of non-dairy whipped cream, and caramel sauce.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to, is people who moan about it being the festive season.

"It starts earlier every year!" - Um, no it doesn't... if it did, by now we would be buying tree ornaments in May, and we're not.

"Oh it's so stressful, I want it to be over!" It's not stressful (so stop saying it is!) If you find this time of year stressful, you probably find most things stressful :P

Embrace it, enjoy it, and go just go with it!

These are the new onesies, and they are available from the Etsy Shop, HERE , And also from the Artfire Shop, HERE

If you can't see them, don't worry! They've probably sold out, but I am always re-stocking, so you won't have to wait long to see them again :)

Some of my favourite paintings.

I haven't painted in a long time, and have 3 half finished canvases around this room at the moment. I really must get back on it!

All paintings are usually listed in the Artfire shop, although there is only one currently in stock, more will be added over the next few weeks.

This one is the butterfly faerie, I'd love for her to become a screenprint one day... but I still have a way to go on perfecting my two colour printing.

The butterfly faerie was painted in Acrylics, on a wooden frame stretched canvas.

These three were a set for Brooke of Brooke Van Gory, for Gory's bedroom. He also has a matching lamp shade which I collaborated on with Kylie of Fabulously Fierce.

Each one is 8x8 inches, painted in acrylics on wooden frame stretched canvases.

The Zombie fish. This is one of my favourites to date. I have painted some more canvases with similar background colour washes, and will be working on those very soon.

These three are larger than usual, 16x16 inches on 2 inch thick wooden frame canvases. These were a commissioned order for a customers bathroom.

I'll definitely be doing some more of these, they were a lot of fun to create.

TNT, Rocky, & Me.

The new shirts for the autumn/winter are now ready, and waiting to be listed in the shop, I may be able to put them in there this weekend, but we'll have to wait and see.

I was contacted by Jenelle of TrashN2Tees ( FB: TrashN2Tees) who asked if I would like her to do some pictures when I had some new shirts ready. I'd previously seen Jenelle's photography, and knew this was no kind offer to just pass up, so straight away said yes.

Of the new shirts, two are brand new designs and two are older ones that have been re-worked/printed on different coloured shirts. There are still a couple more designs which I am hoping to get finished and printed to shirts before this winter also, so this isn't everything for this year by any means.

Jenelle's photography isn't the only reason I love TNT, her clothing, accessories, Ornaments and other items are all upcycled and or reusable.

"TrashN2Tees offers you a sustainable alternative to original, funky, and one of a kind fashion at affordable prices. Custom handmade clothing, reusable produce bags, totes, upcycled tshirt appliques, scarves, hats, gloves and more accessories all made from reclaimed materials. I hope that by rocking recycled threads we can encourage and inspire you to consume less and recycle more!"

While my shirts won't be in the Rocky Shop just yet (only a few more days to wait!)... You can still go shopping in Jenelle's shop... right.... now!

A new direction

For a long time I've wanted to do an accessories line for Rocky the Zombie.

So here it is...

This range was a long time in planning and I wasn't going to go the easy (dirty) route of importing cheap mass-produced plastic from halfway across the world to make it, and neither was I willing to settle for anything being less than perfect.

The ball chains are stamped 925 silver, and 20 inches long with lobster clasp fastenings... sourcing those was the easy part.

As for the charms, I found many fimo artists quite easily, but it was a lot harder to find one who's work genuinely impressed me, and who only settles for the highest level of perfection in every tiny piece... and luckily I found them.

Supporting handmade - CHECK!
Buying Local - CHECK!

Perfect product - DOUBLE CHECK!

They're listed in my Artfire Store. Underneath each picture I have provided the direct link to each necklaces page.

Rocky Van Gory Bags

I've been collaborating with the very talented Brooke Heavey, who is the designer and seamstress at Brooke Van Gory Designs.

This Zombie Lovers Handbag is available in my etsy shop right now. These bags don't stick around very long before being snapped up, and it's one of a kind, so if you love it.. you have one chance to buy.

Brooke Van Gory bags were recently featured by Offbeat Bride, and In Love With Handmade. Also this review by Paisley and Pretties shows the diversity of available designs (and the coolest rainbow stitching!), and how any bag can be custom made to suit you.

SHOP HERE for this specific bag.

SHOP HERE for the main Brooke Van Gory store.

Rocky The Zombie Notebooks and Journals

I've ventured in to the world of Basically, I supply my design and they will put it on anything that YOU want.

My favourite are the notebooks, which are available lined, dotted, journal, or blank.

These notebooks, plus many more products such as coffee mugs, Thermos lunch pots, bags, notecards, shot glasses, and Sigg water bottles (so you can finally get rid of all that plastic, yuck!)

Rocky the Zombie CafePress store

The layout of the store leaves a lot to be desired, but I think that's because they want me to pay to upgrade it.. I'll do that later, if this works out for me.

Snow time

I've been working on larger scale paintings, this way I can fit in so much more details and character that is missing in the smaller pieces. I'd always stuck with smaller work due to the nature of my business being online and every painting requiring shipping to it's new owner.

These are available to buy here: Rocky The Zombie Shop

New girls clothing

I decided that with this next collection of zombie wear, I would try out some stripes and colours that I haven't really used before. Rocky the Zombie has always been about black and grey in the past, with a rare little sprinkle of pink for good measure.

I'm so very lucky that I get to work with Bianca of Relove Planet, and aspire to a time when I can use ONLY organic shirts and materials so that I can feel much more worthy of her time... infact it's my mission for the next shirts that they are all organic. It may mean that there is less choice in colours and sizes, but I believe that the more we all start buying organic, the bigger the demand will grow and the ranges will grow to suit.

These are available here: Rocky The Zombie Shop

Glitter on Toast

Toast Or Glitter?

Toast is amazing, you've got to admit. A big slice of french toast, loaded with fruit and Agave Nectar.. Followed with a cup of traditionally brewed hot tea. Perfection really.

Toast is better than any regular bread ;) and Agave Nectar instead of syrup, because, it's a natural sweetner that isn't made from chemicals. Just ask Bianca - At

Or perhaps you would prefer some treat-tastic Monkey Bread, because you can only really be perfect and good 99.9% of the time ;).. You will need to go and see my friend Deb - OnCupCakeMoon for for information about that utter delight.

But why Glitter?... Well, to cut a long and delicious blog post short, I'll tell you. It's because I've finally figured out the perfect way to bring Rocky designs to you via the medium of GLITTER!

Watch this space ^_^
